Deivi Cruz cracked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Jerome Williams pitched 7
strong innings as the Tampico Stogies defeated the Lewisville Fire Ants 6 to
1 at the ballpark.
Cruz enjoyed a big day at the plate. He doubled plating a run in the 2nd
inning, cracked a two-run shot in the 5th inning and ripping a solo home run
(his 2nd of the season) in the 8th inning. Tampico out-hit Lewisville for
the game, 8 hits to 4.
The win was credited to Williams(1-3) who went 7 innings allowing 1 run.
Victor Zambrano(0-3) was the losing pitcher. 'I just got in the box, looked
for a pitch and swung,' Cruz said. 'That's it'
